Homeschool Evaluations
What are homeschool evaluations?
Evaluations are the review of the home education curriculum, activities, and/or portfolio by a certified Florida teacher for students who are not considered to be public, charter, or private school students. Parents are responsible for submitting the evaluation form to the appropriate district office no later than each anniversary of the student's registration with the Home School Education program.
Requirements
Documentation
Annual evaluations should include ONE of the following options:

1. Florida-certified teacher (chosen by the parent) evaluation
2. National-normed achievement test results (administrated by certified teacher)
3. State student assessment tests used by the school district (administered by a certified teacher at a location under testing conditions approved by the district)
4. Psychologist or School Psychologist evaluation
5. Evaluation by an agreement with the school district and parent
Portfolio Options

Titles of reading materials

Work samples (showing progress over the course of the learning period)

Work samples should include the beginning of the year, middle, and most recent

Process

Send demographic information and portfolio

Pay (via invoice or online form)

Certified teacher review [evaluations may take two to three weeks; next-day rush option available with additional fee]

Debrief of material with child [and parent(s)/guardian(s)]

The evaluation form will be emailed to the parent/guardian

Parent/guardian but send the form(s) to the school district.
